Risk

This is not my thoughts but wanted to share....

To Risk

"To laugh is to risk appearing a fool,
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement,
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return,
To live is to risk dying,
To hope is to risk despair,
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow,
But he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or live.
Chained by his servitude he is a slave who has forfeited all freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.
The pessimist complains about the wind;
The optimist expects it to change;
And the realist adjusts the sails."

As another has said, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The timid soul asks, 'What do I stand to lose if I do it?' The fruit-bearing Christian asks, 'What do I stand to lose if I don't do it?' Real life is lived on the cutting edge."

What will you and I risk for God and his work here on earth?

Canna Lily

For years...literally years... I wanted Canna Lilies in my flower bed! Growing up we would always have them along the garden and I loved them. Finally in 2010 I got some from my pastor wife, they multiply and have plenty.
Just this morning I am thinking....WOW - this feels like a gem from my Mom who no longer is here on this earth.... a past memory of my growing up years!

I dream of my entire back yard in flowing flower beds! If not here in heaven :)

Friends

Sunday I went with my friends to church in MD that I have not seen for 4 years! We figured out the little gal was a baby when I saw them last. They are on the worship team and so in church the kids were not with them but when the little kids went up for prayer during the offering I said to Nita that little girls is so adorable. Only to find out later it is Catherine and Fischer little gal. The boy is a split image of his father and very active but adorable!
It was wonderful to connect with them again and hope to stay in touch more!

Thai Dinner

I will begin with March events.....I bought a Thai Dinner for 6 at the Dayspring Auction in the fall. There was 6 of us that went together and bought it - Wade and Alfy were the cooks. We sure had some awesome food and it seemed like we were at a restaurant the way we were treated. We had the event at Bob & Susie Yoder and they also helped Wade and Alfy pull this off
